UNITING PEOPLE’S LOVE OF FRIED CHICKEN AND EACH OTHER WITH A KFC-THEMED WEDDING SERVICE.
Most Aussies love the Colonial’s food but many are embarrassed to be seen eating it, KFC even had a name for the problem ‘Bag Shame’. Our job was to help people overcome this.
To show that eating KFC is nothing to be ashamed of, we launched KFC Weddings. The full-service wedding offered Aussies the chance to have the most public and photographed day of their lives themed and catered by the Colonial.
THE RECRUITMENT AD DISGUISED AS A FASHION SPREAD IN VOGUE
We launched with a print ad in Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. This led people to a website where chicken-loving lovers could apply. We had almost 2,000 applicants, 2,160 pieces of local and international coverage, with a reach of over 1.2 billion people. The Sydney Morning Herald called the campaign "the holy grail of engaging brand marketing".
“The holy grail of engaging brand marketing”
“Nothing says ‘I love you’ like 11 herbs and spices.”
